AWCA - El Paso, Texas

Welcome to AWCA - El Paso, Texas. We are an official Continued Learning Extension School (CLES) of the Arizona Wing Chun Association (AWCA), a recognized school of the International Ving Tsun Kung Fu Federation (IVTKFF).

AWCA - El Paso, TX works directly with Sifu Phil Bradley of the AWCA in order to locate training partners and share our love of this phenomenal martial art. Working directly with the AWCA Distance Learning Program, AWCA - El Paso, TX is accepting potential training partners to grow in the art and learn from one another.

We founded our program on the basis that not everyone has the opportunities for working one-on-one with other practitioners. Maybe you don't have a school in your area, maybe the schools that "are" in your area are not to your liking, or maybe the fees are so expensive that you cannot afford it.

Well, forget all of that here, because at AWCA - El Paso, TX, we are all one family that works together for the betterment of us all. We stay in weekly contact with Sifu Phil via webcam training (and periodic personal training), so everything we learn is directly from the AWCA with nothing left out.

This can definitely be your answer to finding a convenient way to learn the Wing Chun martial arts system. We have everything needed to participate in our school already here. This includes the wooden dummy, long poles, and double knives. You may be asked to supply some of your personnel protective items such as a mouth guard or  such (mostly the simple things).

We will not necessarily be sparring with every class, though. On some days, we focus on drills and applications, while other days we "hone in" on concepts and theories.

Occasionally we will explore a Wing Chun video or look at some other lineages so as to examine how we differ. We learn as a team and strive to support each other's training.

I personally was studying another  martial arts system when a close family member asked "Why that style?" He then described many different styles to me. I saw many of these on the internet and upon finding Wing Chun and understanding the concept, I was challenged with the job of finding a place with a dummy and students practicing from the heart.

I found a place far from home and it was not long until my main training partner and myself found ourselves losing interest due to the drive and lack of knowledge as to what we would be doing in each days class. We now practice in my studio and sometimes just outdoors when the weather is nice.

We are in the Kern Place neighborhood, making it convenient for people near UTEP to study Wing Chun at their own pace along with  a dedicated team. If you want to learn this system we welcome YOU!

Rather than "go it alone" with a distance program, why not take it even further and give us a call? I guarantee that your training will explode when you work with fellow practitioners.

To your training success,

Si-hing Jimmy Shaheen
